Description

Tasting Note: A delicate aroma of ripe fruit, a mouthful of pears with a spray of lemon and a freshness that’s almost menthol characterise this fine Sancerre from a top producer.

Food Matching: This wine is particulary appreciated with grilled fish, shellfish and even with frog legs.

Vineyard: In the 12th century, Etienne, Count of Sancerre gave a slope located in Ménétréol to the religious order of Grandmontains. Aware of the exceptional quality of the soil, they developed wine-growing on this slope. In 1997, Laporte acquired a vineyard of 4.8 situated in the heart of this slope whose ground is composed of clay and is rich in stones. This wine is certified organic farming .

Vinification: After pneumatic pressing and after racking at low temperature, the wine ferments in stainless steel tanks at temperatures ranging from 18°C to 20°C. No malolactique fermentation is used. The wine is then matured on its fine lees until bottling in June.
